Hyundai has showcased the new Veloster C3 concept at the LA Auto Show. C3 stands for ‘Convertible 3-door’ and the Veloster has an innovative canvas roof than can be retracted both forwards and backwards. Instead of a conventional hatch it has a tail gate than opens downwards. One of the unique attributes about the Hyundai Veloster is the three doors (one on the right and two on the left). This C3 Concept gets different colored wheels at the rear.

The foldable roof in the Hyundai Veloster C3 is extremely versatile in its applications and can be an open top cruiser on the highway with the roof folded back as well as a spacious recreational vehicle with the roof folded forward, back seats folded ahead and the tail gate open. This frees up lots of space to carry kayaks or bicycles, full camping equipment or even fishing equipment. Hyundai also designed a special bicycle for the launch that can be specially attached at the rear in recreational mode.
The Hyundai Velsoter C3 Concept is powered by a 1.6-litre, turbocharged GDI motor which produces 201 HP of power at 6000 RPM and 264 Nm of torque between 1750-4500 RPM. This engine gets a large, free flow exhaust to induce more aural pleasure. Hyundai is already displaying the regular Veloster in India, bringing it to various auto shows and events, using it as a brand building tool.
The Hyundai Veloster C3 is also dressed up with many cosmetic touches like circular exhaust pipes, 18-inch wheels with chrome accents, diffuser vents and LED’s on headlights. This concept car is quite amazing and different which can operate easily as an every day car, an open top tourer as well as can be used like an SUV for a family that’s enjoys adventure and sports. It’s one car that does it all but there are no hints of when it will go into production.
