Fiat has come up with the world premiere of all-new Fiat 500L Trekking and North American debut of all-new Fiat 500L to expand the Fiat brand’s product lineup. The all-new 2014 Fiat 500L offers more than 42 percent interior space with spacious seating for five. The crossover boasts a 1.4-litre MultiAir Turbo engine churning out 160 HP of power and 250 Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed manual and a six-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. The 2014 Fiat 500L will come in standard and Trekking versions.
The Fiat 500L Trekking is the adventure version of the 500L that features rugged looks, two-tone black/brown interior environment, unique front and rear fascia designs, flared wheel arches and larger 17-inch wheels to support its adventurous personality. Designers have added black exterior accents for a more aggressive look.
The Fiat 500L standard version comes with an all-new Uconnect 5.0 system that features a 5-inch touchscreen interface, handsfree calling and Bluetooth-streaming audio, as well as voice-command control of the radio and a media hub for integration of portable devices. The Fiat 500L Trekking can come with an option of the premium Uconnect 6.5 system with its larger 6.5-inch touchscreen radio, dealer-activated navigation with intuitive map graphics and a premium media hub with SD card reader.
The 2014 Fiat 500L and Fiat 500L Trekking models are being produced at Fiat Automobiles’ manufacturing plant in Kragujevac, Serbia, and are expected to arrive to FIAT Studios in North America in mid-2013. As expected, Fiat is likely to bring the 500L standard version to India in near future. However the company is yet to make an official announcement of the same. Fiat India will need to manufacture the 500 range of cars locally, in order to price them aggressively.
