BMW has launched the 6-Series Gran Coupe in India today. The 4-door vehicle is brought into the country via the CBU route and deliveries will commence later this month. The 6-Series Gran Coupe rivals the Audi A7 and Mercedes-Benz CLS. It is available in India with a diesel engine only, called the 640d. The BMW 640d Gran Coupe is priced at Rs. 86.40 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) and is the first 4-door coupe from BMW. The BMW 6-Series Gran Coupe is powered by a 3.0-litre, all aluminium straight 6-cylinder diesel engine which produces 313 HP of power at 4400 RPM and 630 Nm of torque between 1500-2500 RPM. This engine is mated to a 8-speed automatic gearbox. All that power enables the 640d Gran Coupe to reach 100 km/hr in just 5.4 seconds, with the top speed being limited to 250 km/hr. ARAI certified mileage is 18.18 km/l. The 6-Series Gran Coupe is available in black, white (2 shades), blue, silver (2 shades), blue, grey and red colors.
Being a BMW, the 6-Series Gran Coupe carries all the high end features you would expect. The 640d Coupe has BMW’s heads-up display, night vision camera, Bi-xenon headlights, active cruise control, Stop and Go system, surround view system, parking assistant, brake energy regeneration, BMW ConnectedDrive as standard equipment. BMW offers three optional packages for the 6-Series Gran Coupe including the M Sport package, BMW Individual and Luxury package.
