Bajaj Auto has revealed more details about the upcoming Pulsars. On the sidelines of the Discover sales achievement press conference, the Pune based automaker revealed that there is no plans to launch a full faired Pulsar 200 NS in the future. Instead Bajaj will focus on expanding the Pulsar line-up with the launch of bigger Pulsars in the future. Details on bigger Pulsars remain sketchy but work is on at Bajaj Auto’s R&D center for the same.
Developing a full-faired motorcycle involves a lot of efforts as its not simply adding a fairing to the existing motorcycle. If a full-faired motorcycle has even the slight bit of vibrations, it results in a very unpleasant experience for the rider. Bajaj doesn’t plan to launch all new lower capacity Pulsars either and the 150, 180 and 220 variants of the bike will be sold as it is for the next few years, without any major changes.
The Pulsar range is all set to go higher capacity. Bajaj Auto will launch a Pulsar 375 by March 2014, which will be equipped with a 375cc, triple-spark, single-cylinder engine. The motorcycle will draw heavy styling inspirations from the Pulsar 200 NS and will help Bajaj Auto save costs of development. The Pulsar 375 will produce a power ouput of around 32 BHP and a torque output of around 25 Nm. It is expected to be priced around Rs. 1.75 lakhs. KTM will also launch a Duke 375 around the same time.
