Cricket and bikes are the two things which define the Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni. A sneak peak into his garage will leave you spell bound as you will find Hellcat X132, Kawasaki Ninja, Yamaha 650cc, Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme, TVS Star City and few others. His passion for bikes has led him to try something new in his life. Dhoni has now got into the world of Super-bike Championship, that too with his new team which has been named as MSD R-N Racing Team India. This team had already made its debut earlier at the Czech Republic race in Brno.
MSD R-N Racing Team India is the only team from India to take part in the Supersport World Championship. The team consists of two riders – Frenchman Florian Marino and Dan Linfoot of Great Britain. This team was formed in a very short span of time. Only after the team was announced on the official website of the championship, did the outsiders get to know about this news. Mr. Arun Pandey, who also happens to be a very close friend of Dhoni, is the Chairman and the Managing Director of this team. Dhoni would be on the board and south Indian movie star, Nagarjuna is among the other directors.
Started in 1988, Superbike World Championship is the worldwide Superbike racing Championship. There are a series of races and finally two annual world championships are determined- one for riders and one for the manufacturers. Over the years, the championship event went to different parts of the world and the year 2013 would be a lucky one for India as our own Buddh International Circuit would be the host for this spectacular racing championship. Having a team from India participating in this race, makes the whole news even more exciting.
