Tell us about yourself. Who you are? What you do?
Hi, I am Shalson from Chennai. I work in an ITES firm as a Senior Human Resource Manager.
When and how did your love for cars/bikes or both start?
I had a passion for Cars and Bikes right from my childhood.
Which car/bike do you currently own?
I currently own Pulsar 180 (2010 Model) and Ford Escort.
When did you buy your car/bike?
I bought my car in the year 2009 and a year later, the bike.
What made you buy this particular car/bike?
My love for speed is the reason for my passion towards Pulsar 180 and my particular liking for sedans is the reason for buying Ford Escort.
How many kms have you done? How many do you do everyday?
Till date, I covered more than 26000 km. On an average, I travel 24 km everyday.
What do you love the most about your car/bike?
I would say, it is the Speed and the Style. It’s my personal belief that a bond gets created between a man and his machine.
What you don’t like about your car/bike?
I love my car and bike.
Will you trade your car/bike for any other vehicle? If yes, which one?
No, I would never do that.
What is the longest you drove/rode your car/bike and where?
In April 2010, I rode from Coimbatore to Chennai on my Pulsar 180, all alone, covering a distance of 534 kms and it took me seven and a half hours to reach Chennai.
What is the fastest speed you have achieved on your car/bike?
The top speed on my bike was 128 km/h, and on my car, it was 140 km/h.
What mileage does your vehicle give you?
My pulsar gives 35-40 km/l and Ford gives 10-12 km/l.
What is the nastiest thing you have done in your vehicle?
Well, it’s a long list. Free ride, stoppie, burnouts, drifting are few of them.
What modifications have you done to your vehicle and what do you plan to do in the future?
Recently, I added R15 frame to my Pulsar 180 and it turned out be a great looker. Also I have plans to switch to mono shocks and rear disc brakes.
Why is your car/bike so special to you?
They are special to me because they are not just machines. They are my riding partners who help me reach my goal successfully.
Which is your dream car/bike?
My dream Bike: Yamaha R1. My dream Car: Lamborghini Aventador.
Which car/bike sold in India is your current favourite?
Favorite Bike – Honda CBR. Favorite Car – Audi (all the versions)
Any advice for MotorBeam readers?
I am looking forward for some events or communities which can bring all the bike lovers together and I think MotorBeam team can come out with such a great event in Chennai.
