General Motors who is set to enter into the US small car market with the 2013 version of the Spark (known as the Beat in India) has revealed its prices. The Spark was showcased at the 2011 LA Auto Show last November when the company made its intentions clear of entering into the small car market. The Spark is set to be launched in the later half of this year but the company has revealed the prices ahead for convenience of the customers at the on-going 2012 New York Auto Show.
The Spark comes equipped with a 1.2-litre 4 cylinder gasoline engine that produces 85 BHP of power. In US it is being offered in three trim levels and prices start at $12,995 for the base variant LS. The LS variant comes with 15 inch alloys, 10 air bags, electronic stability system and traction control and brake assist. The top variant 2LT comes with a price tag of $15,795 which comes with 15 inch alloys, many extra exterior enhancements and leatherette seats among other standard features.
Chevrolet is offering the 1.2-litre Ecotec engine with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. However, in case you prefer a 4 speed auto, you need to shell out an additional $295. Other features in the interior include Standard 7-inch color touch radio with Chevrolet MyLink, Bluetooth connectivity for select phones, steering wheel audio controls, USB port and Sirius XM Radio with three-month trial subscription along with Other standard convenience features like power door locks with remote keyless entry, theft deterrent system, outside power mirrors, floor mats, visor mirrors, and cruise control.
