The US based car manufacturer, Ford Motors has introduced the automatic variant of their Fiesta sedan in the Indian market and has also made some changes to the variants of the vehicle. The Ford Fiesta, though having great looks, a good engine and amazing handling hasn’t able to capture the hearts of the Indian customers due to its high pricing. The Ford Fiesta is a part of the Ford Global Program and the company had a lot of hopes in terms of sales volumes from the Indian market which unfortunately didn’t happen as per the plan. Its rivals like Hyundai and Maruti Suzuki are able to offer cars at lower prices.
Ford India, seeing the buying preferences and trends of the customers has removed 2 variants, the “Trend” and the “Titanium” for its entire range of variant offerings. Instead, it has added a new variant called the “Ambiente”. The “Style” and the “Titanium Plus” variants remains the same as the old variants. The “Ambiente” variant has been positioned at the starting ladder of the variant line-up. The “Ambiente” variant retails for Rs. 7.23 lakhs and comes with a driver side air-bag. It however doesn’t have a passenger side airbag and no music system. The AT option comes with the “Style” variant which retails at Rs. 8.99 lakhs, ex-showroom, Delhi. In diesel, the high-end Titanium Plus variant of the Ford Fiesta is priced at Rs. 10.43 lakhs (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi).
