Bajaj Auto has recalled the Pulsar 220 DTS-i to fix a faulty starter motor relay, which could result in starting problems for a select bikes. Not all Pulsar 220 motorcycles are affected by this problem and the owners of the affected bikes will be notified by the dealers via SMS. This replacement will be done free of charge to the customer and will take around 20 minutes to replace. This problem might look small but is quite serious as Bajaj Auto has done away with kick starter on the Pulsar series and thus owners might not be able to start their bikes.
Bajaj Auto will be phasing out the Pulasr 220 DTS-i soon as the company will be launching the next generation Pulsar 200 NS. The current range of Pulsar motorcycles will not be phased out immediately but over a period of time. The next generation Pulsar 200 NS is expected to be launched by the end of April and dealers will start taking bookings in early April. The new Pulsar will not be retailed through the Probiking showroom (now KTM stores) and the Pulsar 200 NS is expected to be priced around Rs. 95,000/-.
