The Honda CBR250R has been in the news for all the good reasons but this piece of news is going to be very different. Honda created waves with the aggressive price of the CBR250R, resorting to heavy localisation to ensure the value for money tag on the quarter liter motorcycle. However many people complained about the poor quality and now a recall has been undertaken by the Japanese automaker. Our reader informs us that Honda called him up for a regular checkup and replaced a few parts including the grab rails and a few nuts and bolts of the mirrors and fairing. The engine cowl is being replaced too due to some faults with it. The parts were affected with rusting and we called up a Honda dealer to confirm the same.
Honda has not officially announced the recall yet but if your part of the first batch of CBR250R owners in India, your dealer will contact you soon for the replacement of parts soon. Furthermore the company, whose tagline is “I Enjoy The Quality” should be more stringent with their PDI specially for a motorcycle which is their flagship made in India product. With the KTM Duke 200 almost here, we feel Honda should address this issues quickly and ensure such things don’t happen in the future. The Duke 200 has already been handed to select media and from the pictures we see, quality has not been compromised even though Bajaj Auto has resorted to heavy localization of the Duke.
