The first ever Formula 1 race in India has given car makers a chance to promote their vehicles. With most companies having some sort of association with an F1 team, car makers were able to promote their offerings indirectly. Now Tata Motors has decided to promote the Jaguar XKR through India’s first Formula 1 drive, Narain Karthikeyan. The only Indian to be racing on the maiden Indian GP, Narain has chosen to drive the Jaguar XKR, which has a 5.0-liter, Supercharged V8 engine, producing 510 PS of power and 625 Nm of torque. This Jag reaches 0-100 kmph in 4.8 seconds and is limited to a top speed of 250 kmph.
“I see Jaguar as having a great Motorsport heritage and its historical success at Le Mans has helped to keep its reputation as one of the best sports car manufacturers. The Jaguar XKR is a great high performance sporting GT and is the ideal car for me to drive ahead of my race at the Indian Grand Prix,” Narain Karthikeyan, said.
