Skoda has quietly changed the variant nomenclature of the Laura. The company has now four variants on offer for the Laura, which start with the base Active, followed by the Ambition, Elegance and the top of the line L&K. The reason for the change in the variant name system could have been triggered at Volkswagen’s end who did not want buyers to get confused between the new Jetta and the Laura. The Classic and Ambiente variants have been discontinued. Skoda has also done some changes to the features of the car and removed certain equipment from the base model (like Airbag) to decrease the price marginally. The Elegance variant now gets more equipment such as 16-inch wheels and rear defogger but the price has not changed of the Elegance variant.
