Bajaj Chetak New Variant Spied, Expected To Be Budget-Oriented With No Front Disc Brakes
The Bajaj Chetak has been a competent EV Scooter that aims to cater to the premium EV 2-wheeler segment. Recently, a lower-spec version was spotted while testing. Let’s take a closer look at how this version of the Chetak will slot into the lineup.
The Changes
The most observable change on this particular Chetak is that it has no front disc brakes. This is why it hints at being slotted at the lower end of the Chetak lineup, catering to a wider audience. Overall, it can be noticed that styling and silhouette remain the same as the rest of the Chetak lineup. There could be additional cost-cutting measures that can reduce the pricing which starts from Rs. 1,30,596/- and goes up to Rs. 1,42,518/-
Expected Pricing
The Chetak is powered by a 2.88 kWh battery that gives 113 km to 137 km, depending upon the model. It is expected that the battery capacity of the motor may be altered to provide a reduced range but for a lower price. However, Bajaj has not released exact details of the battery capacity and range of this new version.
Market Competition
The Bajaj Chetak’s budget version will give buyers a better alternative to TVS iQube and Ola S1 Air. This version will launch in the next few months and its aggressive price tag should appeal to more price-conscious buyers. The EV Scooter segment has the potential to expand and offering a better variant suited for budget-friendly buyers will bring the fascinating prospect of healthy competition.
