Maruti Suzuki updates the Brezza with six airbags and enhanced safety features
Maruti Suzuki has introduced a safety and feature upgrade for the Brezza, making six airbags a standard offering across all variants. Previously, this safety feature was limited to the top-spec ZXi+ trim. The update also includes additional convenience features that enhance passenger comfort.
Enhanced Safety and Comfort Features
Apart from six airbags, the 2025 Brezza now comes equipped with three-point seatbelts for all passengers, addressing the previous omission of a proper restraint for the rear center occupant. Other upgrades include front seatbelt height adjustment, a rear center armrest with integrated cupholders, adjustable rear headrests, and a 60:40 split-folding function for the rear seats. These features, earlier available only on higher trims, are now standard across the lineup.
No Mechanical Changes
The Brezza retains its existing powertrain options, continuing with the 1.5-litre K15 petrol engine. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic, with the latter featuring mild-hybrid technology as standard. The manual variants of the ZXi and ZXi+ trims also offer mild-hybrid tech. Additionally, Maruti Suzuki continues to provide a factory-fitted CNG option across most variants, except for the range-topping ZXi+ trim.
Pricing and Market Positioning
Following a recent price hike of up to Rs. 20,000/- in February 2025, the Brezza is now priced between Rs. 8.54 lakhs and Rs. 14.14 lakhs (ex-showroom). The updated model competes in the highly competitive subcompact SUV segment, taking on rivals such as the Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Skoda Kylaq, Kia Syros and Hyundai Venue.
With these updates, Maruti Suzuki aims to strengthen the Brezza’s appeal by enhancing both safety and convenience without altering its mechanical setup.
