Royal Enfield Scram 440 Front

Royal Enfield has launched the Scram 440, after unveiling it at Motoverse 2024. The updated version is Rs. 1300 more than its predecessor, the Scram 411. The Royal Enfield Scram 440 is launched at a starting price of Rs. 2.08 lakhs (ex-showroom), known as the Trail Variant. There is another variant, the higher priced of the two, known as the Force Variant at Rs. 2.15 lakhs (ex-showroom).

Design Details

The Scram 440 shares large parts of its design with the outgoing Scram 411. At the front, you get a single LED headlight with a digital multi-information display that looks like a mixture of modernism and retro. The Scram has a boxy fuel tank like the retro Scrams with Royal Enfield Logos printed prominently! The rest of the chassis beautifully incorporates these highlights to look like a modern classic bike that deserves a spot on your shopping list!
The Scram 440 gets 19-inch and 17-inch spoke wheels at the front and rear respectively. Additionally, you have the option of alloys on the Force Variant. Royal Enfield offers a ton of colour combinations with the Scram such as Trail Green, Trail Blue, Force Teal, Force Grey, and Force Blue.

Suspension & Braking

The frame comprises a half-duplex split cradle frame, with 41mm telescopic front forks whilst the rear gets a mono-shock setup equipped with linkages. To stop the Scram 440, the braking setup includes a 300 mm disc at the front with 2 piston floating callipers and a 240 mm disc with a single-piston calliper. This is a respectable setup for stopping a 187 kg dry weight.

Engine

Royal Enfield has put the 443cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine in the Scram 440! It produces 25 HP at 6250 RPM and 35 Nm of torque at 4000 RPM. This power is transferred via a 6-speed Transmission combined with a wet multi-plate clutch.

Market Position & Competition

In terms of competition, the Scram 440 will compete with the likes of Yezdi Scrambler and Triumph Speed 400X. As compared to its contemporaries, Royal Enfield combines a higher percentage of retro coolness. With an updated engine, this makes the Royal Enfield Scram 440 one of the most appealing scramblers on the market.
