Hyundai India has introduced a new update to its Verna midsize sedan, adding a fresh Amazon Grey colour option and a rear spoiler to the lineup. Along with these updates, prices have been revised for all variants except the entry-level EX, with a Rs. 4000/- increase across the range. The Verna now starts at Rs. 11 lakh for the EX variant, featuring a 1.5-litre petrol engine with a manual gearbox, and goes up to Rs. 17.48 lakh for the top-spec SX(O) DT variant, which comes with a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine and a dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The addition of Amazon Grey expands Verna’s monotone color choices to eight. The sedan also retains its two dual-tone options — Atlas White with a black roof and Fiery Red with a black roof—which are available exclusively on turbo-petrol variants. The price remains the same for both monotone and dual-tone options.
The new rear spoiler is designed in a split style, adding a different visual element to the sedan’s rear but resembling an aftermarket look.
There are no mechanical updates in this version. The Verna continues with its two engine options: a 115 HP, 1.5-litre petrol engine available with either a 6-speed manual or CVT, and a 160 HP, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine with a 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.
The Verna competes in the midsize sedan market alongside models like the Volkswagen Virtus, Honda City, Maruti Ciaz, and Skoda Slavia, offering a variety of features and options for buyers in this segment.
