Bajaj Chetak 2903 to get more features, launch expected soon

Bajaj Auto is gearing up to introduce a new addition to its electric scooter portfolio, the Chetak 2903. This launch is part of Bajaj’s ongoing efforts to expand its electric vehicle offerings and cater to a growing market segment.

The Chetak 2903 will be positioned above the current entry-level Chetak 2901, which is the most affordable model in the lineup. With a price gap of nearly Rs. 22,000 between the 2901 and the Urbane variant, the 2903 is expected to bridge this gap, offering a more feature rich option for customers.

While the overall design and aesthetics of the Chetak 2903 are expected to remain largely similar to its predecessor, Bajaj may introduce new colour options to distinguish the new model. The Chetak 2903 is likely to come with additional features compared to the 2901 variant, a move aimed at justifying its higher price point.

In terms of performance, the Chetak 2903 is expected to retain the same 2.9kWh battery pack as the 2901. This battery provides an ARAI-certified range of 123 km on a single charge, with a real-world range estimated between 90 and 100 km. The scooter will continue to be powered by a 4kW electric motor, capable of reaching a top speed of 63 km/hr. One potential upgrade in the 2903 model could be the inclusion of a fast-charging feature, something the 2901 variant currently lacks.

The Chetak 2903 is expected to be priced around Rs. 1.2 lakhs (ex-showroom), and its launch is anticipated within the next few weeks. This new model is likely to appeal to consumers looking for a balance between affordability and advanced features in an electric scooter.
