Tata Motors to introduce new app for EVs to help reduce range anxiety
Tata Motors is set to launch its new Charge Point Aggregator app on 7th August, coinciding with the introduction of its latest electric vehicle, the Curvv.ev. The app aims to enhance the EV ownership experience by offering a range of features tailored to the needs of EV drivers.
In collaboration with over 15 charging point operators, Tata Motors will provide real-time information on more than 13,000 charging points across India. This partnership aims to simplify the process of finding and using charging stations, a critical concern for EV owners.
The app will be a part of Tata’s Connected Car platform, designed to help users plan trips and locate the nearest charging stations. One of its key features is the ability to display real-time charger status, which is expected to alleviate range anxiety – a common issue among EV drivers. Additionally, the app will offer navigation to charging locations, integrate with Tata EV data for trip planning and include user-generated ratings and reviews of charging points.
This development is part of Tata Motors’ broader strategy to support the adoption of electric vehicles in India. By providing an integrated platform for EV users, the company aims to streamline the charging process and enhance the convenience of owning an electric vehicle. The app’s introduction alongside the Curvv.ev highlights Tata’s commitment to expanding its EV lineup and supporting infrastructure.
Overall, the Charge Point Aggregator app represents a significant step forward in addressing the infrastructure challenges associated with EV adoption. By offering a comprehensive solution for locating and evaluating charging points, Tata Motors hopes to make electric vehicles a more attractive option for Indian consumers.
