Citroen Basalt Vision reveals coupe SUV design of their latest product
Citroen Basalt Vision revealed, showcases the new SUV coupe dimensions. The production version is likely to get toned down exterior. Interior will be revealed closer to the launch later this year, expected to hit the showrooms by this festive season.
The front profile of the Citroen Basalt will remind you of the current lineup of their products in India right from the C3 hatchback to the C3 Aircross to the range topping C5 Aircross. The family design continues with the Basalt. It comes with split DRL and headlamp setup with projector LED lights. The grille has a unique design and the bumper integrates fog lamps along with a faux skid plate finished in silver.
On the side profile you will notice fancy black alloy wheel design, these are likely to be toned down with the production version but if they offer the same size and style, this will look super attractive. It gets a unique kink on the C-pillar and the roof slopes down seamlessly integrating with the boot. The lower-half of the body gets black cladding to add to the rugged appeal of the crossover.
The rear profile gets LED tail lamps with wraparound effect on the body. It looks quite sharp with the styling and split black bumper treatment with silver faux skid plate at the rear as well. The concept shown here is painted in bright yellow and gets black contrast elements. Overall the styling looks spot on and will attract a lot of attention out on the road.
The C3 based crossover will be offered to the domestic market and will also be exported to other markets as well including South America.
The Citroen Basalt production version will get the same 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine as seen on the C3 Aircross. This engine produces 110 PS and 190 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox or 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. Citroen won’t offer any diesel engine option with the Basalt.
