First two showrooms have been inaugurated in Gurugram
Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, a subsidiary of Tata Motors, has launched its TATA.ev stores in the auto hubs of Sector 14 and Sohna Road, Gurugram.
The TATA.ev stores are scheduled to open to the public starting 7th January, 2024. The Indian carmaker claims that these showrooms represent a departure from the traditional 4-wheeler showrooms and embrace the core values of sustainability, community and technology.
The sustainability commitment is evident in the design, construction and day-to-day operations of the showroom. Materials used are either recycled or recyclable, with an emphasis on locally sourced materials to reduce reliance on long-distance transportation.
Community engagement is another focal point of the showroom design, with the space intended for shared moments beyond purchasing a Tata EV with events, catch-ups and offerings like coffee.
Digital elements in the store include screens providing testimonials from current owners, addressing concerns and myths around EVs, customisation options and personalised welcomes for families receiving the delivery of their EVs.
Shailesh Chandra, MD of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, emphasised the company’s commitment to understanding the evolving needs of EV consumers. He stated, “The new flagship showrooms are the first physical manifestations of this brand philosophy and we have mapped the customer journey accordingly.” The company envisions these showrooms not only as retail spaces but as TATA.ev community centres in Gurugram.
Vivek Srivatsa, Head of Marketing, Sales, and Service Strategy at Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., highlighted the reimagined in-store experience at TATA.ev stores. He mentioned that every aspect has been designed to offer a uniquely memorable car-buying experience, combining digital, physical and human elements.
As Tata Motors expands its physical presence with these new showrooms, it remains to be seen how this approach aligns with the evolving expectations of the growing EV community.
