Mahindra XUV700 to get new features soon to make it more desirable
Mahindra XUV700 is expected to get new features soon as the car’s manual leaks some upcoming changes. The XUV700 was launched in August 2021 and there have been no updates since then. It seems like the Indian UV maker will update the flagship model early next year with new features and changes.
Currently, the XUV700 is available in 5-seater and 7-seater options, both of which get bench seats for the second row. There have been no captain seats on offer since its launch. Its rivals like Tata Safari, Toyota Innova and its own sibling Mahindra Scorpio N are equipped with captain seats.
The leak from the manual suggests that it will get captain seats with individual arm rest. It is reclinable as well and the passenger can set the recline angle according to their requirements. Captain seats are quite comfortable on long journeys providing better support than bench seats. However, there is always a dilemma while choosing between captain seats and bench seats since you need to compromise on the seating capacity with captain seats.
Another important update will be the auto dimming inside rear-view mirror. It will come with anti-glare auto adjustment on and off switch. It has a sensor at the back, indicator light and brightness switch. This is quite a useful feature while driving at night since there are a lot of high beam users on Indian roads. The reflection rate adjusts itself according to the light intensity.
We can expect Mahindra to offer a few more features with the XUV700 to compete aggressively with the newly updated Tata Safari and Harrier that have received significant changes in terms of features.
Engine options will remain the same including the 2.2-litre diesel and 2.0-litre turbo petrol motor. Mahindra is currently testing an all-electric version of the XUV700. It is likely to get a driving range of up to 500 km on full charge. It will compete with the upcoming Tata Safari EV.
