Aprilia RS 457 revealed for the Indian market
Aprilia RS 457 revealed in India, the bike will be available for pre-bookings soon. At the event we were expecting the bike maker to announce the pricing but it is yet to be announced. However, we can expect it to be priced around Rs. 5 lakhs as it will be positioned around the KTM RC 390 and the Kawasaki Ninja 400.
The design of the new middle-weight motorcycle from Aprilia takes inspiration from its bigger siblings. The bike showcased had no rear-view mirrors and saree guard. Of course these things will be added to the production bikes that will go on sale soon.
The Aprilia RS 457 is developed at Aprilia’s headquarters in Noale, Italy and, in parallel, by the test team in Baramati, Maharashtra, India. It will be manufactured at Piaggio India’s plant in Maharashtra.
It is powered by a 457cc, liquid-cooled, parallel twin-cylinder engine producing 48 HP. They haven’t revealed the torque output yet. It has a dry weight of 159 kg and wet weight of 175 kg. Features 41 mm USD front forks with 120 mm of travel and preload adjustability. Rear gets pre-load adjustable monoshock with steel swingarm and 130 mm wheel travel.
Brakes include 320 mm front disc with a ByBre radial-mount 4-piston caliper and ByBre caliper brakes at the rear with 220 mm steel disc. It is equipped with two-channel ABS system with dual map of use. The 17-inch rims mount 110/70 tyres at the front and 150/60 at the rear.
