Volvo C40 Recharge all-electric crossover launched in India, price revealed
Volvo C40 Recharge launched with a price tag of Rs. 61.25 lakhs (ex-showroom & introductory). The new all-electric crossover is the second EV from the Swedish brand in India and it is positioned above the XC40 Recharge in the lineup with a premium price of Rs. 4.35 lakhs over the XC40 counterpart.
Bookings of the Volvo C40 Recharge will commence today (5th September), 5 PM onwards and the deliveries will begin from next week. It is available only in a single variant. The C40 is exclusive to the all-electric variant, there is no ICE version available in India. However, the XC40 is available in both petrol and electric versions.
In terms of styling, the front profile looks very similar to the XC40. It’s beyond the B-pillar that the car exhibits a unique shape with a sloping down coupe roofline offering it an SUV Coupe body style look. It gets a redesigned tail with new lights, bumper and tail gate.
The dashboard of the C40 Recharge looks identical to the XC40. It comes with a 9-inch portrait touchscreen infotainment system and a 12.3-inch all-digital instrument cluster.
Some of the features include dual-zone climate control system, wireless charger, panoramic sunroof, Harman Kardon audio system, 360 degree camera, powered front seats with cooling and heating function, driver-side memory function, ADAS, etc.
The Volvo C40 Recharge is powered by a dual-motor electric powertrain that produces 408 HP and 660 Nm of torque. It does 0-100 km/hr acceleration in 4.7 seconds. It has a 78kWh battery pack which offers a claimed range of 530 km on WLTP cycle and 683 km claimed by ICAT on full charge.
The Volvo C40 Recharge competes with the likes of Kia EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq 5 electric cars in the Indian market.
