Tata Safari facelift to get a completely new dashboard design
Tata Safari facelift is expected to be revealed by September this year, the updated SUV’s dashboard has been leaked completely undisguised ahead of launch.
The first thing you will notice is the new flat bottom steering wheel design that was showcased on the Harrier EV concept at the 2023 Auto Expo. It gets a completely new design with a modern touch. Has toggle switches and buttons on either side for multimedia and cruise control. It has a black panel on the middle which might get the Tata logo illumination. It looks much more premium than before.
There is a floating touchscreen infotainment system on the dashboard which looks larger than the latest 10.25-inch unit seen on the Dark Red edition. We can expect more features and updated interface as well.
The layered dashboard seems to have a gloss panel coloured in neon colour in the middle. It looks quite funky and if you notice the lower half of the dashboard gets a soft leatherette panel with neon colour stitching. This particular model might be some special edition that will be introduced at the time of launch or an optional interior pack with multiple colour options.
On the centre console you will notice there are very few or no buttons. There is a clean black panel which might get touch sensitive buttons for the automatic climate control and all other functions of the car.
There is a rotary knob with knurled finish and most probably a digital display on top inspired by the Nexon EV to change different driving modes. The gear selector lever is now short and small and looks very premium, takes inspiration from the new lot of Range Rover SUVs.
Along with this you can expect a long list of features with the Safari facelift as Tata plans to target the Mahindra XUV700 with a more desirable package.
Under the hood you can expect the same 2.0-litre diesel engine producing 170 PS and 350 Nm of torque. It will be available with both 6-speed manual and automatic transmission options. Tata is developing a new 1.5-litre turbo petrol as well which might be added later. Safari will also be available with an electric powertrain in the near future as it is currently under testing.
