Toyota recalls Glanza and Urban Cruiser Hyryder models over faulty airbags
Toyota recalls around 1390 units of Glanza and Urban Cruiser Hyryder over faulty airbags issue. This announcement comes soon after Maruti Suzuki recalled over 17,000 vehicles for the same issue.
Since Toyota and Maruti Suzuki do part sharing for both these cars, the Glanza and Urban Cruiser Hyryder are also affected. The affected cars are manufactured between 8th December, 2022 and 12th January, 2023.
These cars are equipped with faulty airbag controllers which could result in non-deployment of airbags in case of an impact. Under this recall, Toyota will inspect and replace the controller unit completely. This procedure will be done free of cost.
Both the carmakers have requested the owners of these affected cars to not use these vehicles until the part has been replaced.
Toyota will individually contact the owners of these vehicles for the inspection and replacement of the faulty component. If you are not contacted and you are sure about your vehicle being manufactured between these dates, then you can also check it on the website.
Last month, Toyota and Maruti issued a recall for faulty front seat belt height adjuster for Maruti Ertiga, XL6, Ciaz and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder.
