Maruti Grand Vitara along with four other cars recall announced
Maruti Grand Vitara recall announced for faulty front seat belt height adjuster. In this recall Ertiga, XL6, Ciaz and even Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder are affected.
Around 1000 units of the Urban Cruiser Hyryder and 9125 units of Maruti cars are affected in this recall. The faulty seat belt shoulder height adjuster could potentially lead to disassembly.
As of now there is no report of failure of this part. Both the carmakers will contact the owners of the affected cars shortly to replace the part at their authorised service centres.
Cars manufactured between 2nd and 28th November, 2022 have been recalled. If your car is manufactured in this time period and you haven’t received any communication from the carmaker, make sure to get your car checked at your dealership.
While the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder and Maruti Grand Vitara are manufactured in the same plant in Bidadi in Karnataka, the other Maruti cars are manufactured in Maruti’s Gujarat and Manesar plants. However, the component supplier must be the same and hence the issue in the child part that has lead to recall of all these cars.
