In July, 2022, car sales, Toyota Urban Cruiser has achieved a staggering growth, overall sales is a mixed bag
In July, 2022, car sales, the top-sellers nearly held on to their positions. Maruti Suzuki took the lead by having 11 of its models in the list followed distantly by Hyundai and Tata. Most of Maruti Suzuki’s models have witnessed YoY growth.
As usual, the Indo-Japanese maker’s Wagon R A-segment hatchback became the country’s best seller by registering a total sales of 22,588 units. But, it couldn’t replicate last year’s sales.
The next 2 places were taken by Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Swift while Tata Nexon took the third spot. Except Swift, the other 2 have witnessed growth. The fifth and sixth places were taken by Dzire and Eeco with double digit growth.
Hyundais, Creta and Venue grabbed the next 2 spots. While Creta witnessed de-growth, Venue posted phenomenal growth. The ninth and tenth places were taken by Maruti Suzuki S-Presso and Tata Punch.
While the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios got featured in the eleventh spot, a total of 3 Maruti Suzukis trailed behind it including Brezza, Ertiga, and Alto. All the 3 fell short of cracking the 10,000 mark. At number 15, Kia Seltos has posted good growth.
The next 3 spots were taken by Mahindra Bolero, Kia Sonet, and Toyota Innova Crysta. The Sonet couldn’t replicate last year’s sales. The nineteenth and twentieth places were taken by hatchbacks Hyundai i20 and Maruti Suzuki Celerio.
Toyota Urban Cruiser grabbed the twenty-first place with a staggering YoY growth of 175 percent. It has more than doubled its sales thanks to the Brezza becoming costlier now.
The remaining places were taken by Mahindra XUV700, Tata Altroz, Maruti Suzuki Ignis, and Kia Carens. The XUV700, as usual, was bogged down by slow production. The company is not able to meet the rising demand.
Unfortunately, the safe hatchback Altroz has posted negative growth. While Ignis has nearly doubled its sales, Carens can be seen slowly picking up pace.
