June 2022 compact SUV sales – Mahindra Thar has posted a humongous 242 pecent YoY growth
In June, 2022, compact SUV sales, except Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, all the other top-seller have posted growth exhibiting the demand the segment commands in the market. Out of nowhere, Toyota Urban Cruiser has sold more than 5000 units.
As usual, Tata Nexon became the best-selling compact SUV in the country. It sold a whopping 14,295 units with a growth of 78 percent. It was distantly followed by Tata Punch and Hyundai Venue, each selling over 10,000 units.
The Venue, which recently got a facelift, has more than doubled its sales with an impressive growth of 112 percent. At number 4, Venue’s cousin Kia Sonet sold 7455 units with growth of 25 percent.

Toyota Urban Cruiser took the fifth place, and it posted 1 of its best ever sales. The compact Toyota sold a good 5301 units with growth of 105 percent. The sixth place was taken by Mahindra XUV300 which maintained its pandemic performance.
Unfortunately, Maruti Suzuki’s now-discontinued Vitara Brezza has sold just 4404 units thanks to all the booking being channeled towards the all-new Brezza. The outgoing model took the seventh spot.
At number 8, Mahindra Thar continues to record best ever growth. This time, the off-roader has recorded a humongous 242 percent growth and it has quadrupled its pandemic performance.
The last 2 places were taken the Renault Nissan twins – Kiger and Magnite. Both have recorded decent sales selling more than 3000 units.
