More specifications of the upcoming Mahindra Scorpio N have been revealed ahead of the SUV’s launch this month

Ahead of the launch of the Mahindra Scorpio N on 27th June, more specifications of the SUV continue to pour out. Thanks to Youtuber Sharman D’Souza, we have some very interesting updates for you relating to the ‘Big Daddy’.

For the first time in its lifespan, the upcoming Scorpio N will, reportedly, get what 1 calls a driver drowsiness detection system which alerts when there’s no input from the driver for a prolonged period of time.

With the addition of the 4×4 system in both the petrol and diesel variants of the Scorpio N, there are claims of some serious off-road capabilities too. The car’s ground clearance is a good 205 mm. Further, at the rear, the Scorpio, reportedly, gets a penta-link suspension setup with frequency selective damping technology.

The source said the SUV has excellent departure and approach angles as it can handle up to 47 degrees of descent and 57 degrees of ascent on a steep slope with ease. To further make off-roading safe, the Scorpio gets a big suite of safety features.

They include electronic stability programme, traction control, hill descent control, ABS, electronic brake force distribution, tire pressure monitoring system, and 6 airbags. The SUV also gets basic driver assistance systems but not a full-fledged ADAS.

The upcoming Scorpio N is powered by a 2-litre mStallion petrol engine that puts out 197 HP that’s same as that of the XUV700.

The diesel, however, gets 2 states of tune for the 6-speed manual and autoboxes. While the 2.2-litre mHawk puts out a common 172 HP for both the variants, the max torque is 370 Nm for the manual and 400 Nm for the automatic.

The Scorpio N rides on 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels for the manual while the automatic gets small 17-inch units. The SUV has well sorted high-speed handling, cornering, and road manners.

As far as features are concerned, the car features full LED front fog lamps with LED ‘Scorpion tail’ DRLs, dual-zone climate control, brown leatherette interiors including brown dual-tone finish leather seats, and 12-speaker Sony system with 3D sound staging

Further the SUV sports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, push button start/stop, sunroof, and cruise control.

There are 7 colours on offer – White, Silver, Napoli Black, Rage Red, New Blue, Brushed Green, and Brushed Gold.
