April 2022 has become the month of the 650s when it comes to performance bike sales, 8 650s get featured
Unlike last month, the performance bike sales in April 2022 are back to square 1 with most the 650s gaining their lost ground to the litre-class machines. As many as 8 top sellers have turned out to be 650s which shows Indians’ love for the segment.
First up is, as usual, the Royal Enfield 650 series which have posted impressive growth. In fact, the 650s have inched closer to the cheaper Himalayan, Scram, and Meteor’s sales figures.
In the near future, they have high possibilities of becoming the mainstream products for Royal Enfield if such a growth continues.
At number 2, Kawasaki Ninja 300 has slightly gone down in sales when compared to its performance last month. It seems like the launch hype is slowly going down.
Ninja is over Rs. 50,000/- costlier than the base Royal Enfield Interceptor which completely diminishes its value proposition.
The Kawasaki Versys 650 is back again after a brief slowdown and has become the third best seller. It has sold more than half of what the Ninja 300 could manage. The popular Kawasaki Z900 has also made a strong comeback in the chart after its low sales last month.
Honda CBR650R, Triumph Tiger Sport 660, and Honda Africa Twin took the next 3 places. The latest entrant from Triumph is consistently recording good sales.
It has even overtaken its roadster brother, the Trident 660, which has been pushed to the shared eighth place with the Kawasaki’s entry-level cruiser, the Vulcan S.
In the last few months, the usual best-seller Kawasaki Ninja 650 is not able to bag top positions. Its sales are quite inconsistent nowadays. Taking the ninth spot, it has sold just 14 units.
The last place has been taken by the lone litre-class bike in this chart, the Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX.
