Tata Nexon EV Max price goes up to Rs. 19.24 lakhs (ex-showroom) for the top-end XZ+ Lux variant
After a long list of teasers rolling for days, Tata has finally launched its much-hyped Nexon EV Max at a starting price of Rs. 17.74 lakhs (ex-showroom). Tata has brought a long list of updates to the car by tweaking the regular Nexon EV inside out.
Being the updated long-range version of the regular Nexon EV, the new model boasts of an ARAI certified range of 437 km with Tata claiming that the car can undertake a return-trip to Pune from Mumbai on a single charge.
The updated Ziptron powertrain offers 125 km extra range than the regular Nexon EV.
The increased range comes courtesy to the new bigger 40.5 kWh IP67 rated lithium-ion battery pack the electric SUV sports. The regular Nexon EV makes to do with a smaller 30.2 kWh battery pack.
Not just the battery, even the permanent magnet synchronous motor has been updated which now puts out 141 HP and 250 Nm against the regular Nexon EV’s 127 HP and 245 Nm, a clear 14 HP and 5 Nm increase.
The existing car supports a 3.3 kW on-board portable charger which comes standard but the Nexon EV Max also takes in charge from a bigger 7.2 kW AC fast-charger which can be bought for an additional premium.
On the regular charger, the Nexon EV Max charges to full in 16 hours while the more powerful charger does the job in 6 and half hours. On any 50 kW charger, the car can top up from 0 to 80 percent in 56 minutes.
The Nexon EV Max comes in 2 variants – XZ+ and XZ+ Lux. It also gets new colours – the signature Intensi Teal, Dayatona Grey, and Pristine White. The car gets new 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels as standard fitment
The standard features on the base variant includes multi-model regen system, disc brakes on all wheels, ESP with iVBAC, electronic parking brake with auto-hold, wireless smartphone charger, illuminated drive mode selector knob finished in knurled chrome, and cruise control.
The top-end variant additionally features air purifier, electric sunroof, Markhana beige interiors, front leatherette ventilated seats, and auto dimming IRVMs.
Other features include Z-Connect connected tech, Harman infotainment system, auto brake lamp during regen, iTPMS, hill hold and hill descent control, and dual airbags. Overall, there are more than 30 features on offer. However the boot capacity remains the same 350 litres as the regular model.
Dispatches of the Nexon EV Max have commenced and deliveries are likely to start by late May or early June.
As of today, Nexon EV is the only SUV in the country with a 5-star NCAP rating as well as an electric powertrain. It rivals the MG ZS EV in its price range.
