2022 Maruti Ertiga Colours — The MPV has been purchased by the bucket loads by customers in India

The asking price of the 2022 Maruti Ertiga rises till Rs. 12.79 lakhs (ex-showroom)

Maruti Suzuki has introduced the 2022 Ertiga with a base asking price of Rs. 8.35 lakhs (ex-showroom), today in India and the launch marks the tenth anniversary of the MPV.

Interior — The car remains as practical as ever

Visually, the 2022 Ertiga looks very much like the pre-facelift version. But, it has new features like the restyled radiator grille up front, 2-tone alloy wheels and tailgate chrome garnish.

Available in 6 exterior colour choices, including 2 new ones namely Dignity Brown and Splendid Silver, the MPV also comes with a refreshed interior. Customers will find metallic teak-wooden finish on the dash and dual tone seat fabric upholstery.

The car measures 4395 mm long, 1735 mm wide, 1690 mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2740 mm

In terms of features, the car has a 1-touch reclining and sliding second row bench seat, 50:50 split third row seat (can be reclined too), a power socket for each row, driver side auto-window up with anti-pinch, auto headlamps with ‘follow-me-home’, retractable key-operated ORVMs and cruise control.

Equipped with a 7-inch SmartPlay Pro infotainment touchscreen, voice assistant (command through “Hi Suzuki”), over 40 connected car features, Suzuki Connect skill for Amazon Alexa, the MPV comes with plentiful safety tech.

2022 Maruti Ertiga CNG — The S-CNG variants come with a CNG-specific speedometer

As standard, the 2022 Ertiga has dual front airbags, ABS, EBD, ISOFIX anchorages (second row) and seatbelt reminder for front passengers. Based on the grade chosen, the MPV will come with up to 4 airbags, ESP and Hill Hold Assist function as well.

The petrol models are powered by a 1.5-litre (1462cc to be exact), 4-cylinder engine that puts out a maximum of 102 BHP at 6000 RPM and 137 Nm of torque at 4400 RPM. The transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed auto with paddle shifters.

The car comes with rear parking sensors as standard

The same engine has been tuned to deliver 99 BHP at 6000 RPM and 136 Nm at 4200 RPM when fed with petrol and 87 BHP at 5500 RPM and 121.5 Nm at 4200 RPM when fuelled with CNG in the S-CNG model of the MPV that can only be had with the manual gearbox.

The claimed fuel efficiency figures for the 2022 Ertiga is 20.30 km/l in petrol-AT guise, 20.51 km/l in petrol-MT guise and 26.11 km/kg in S-CNG form. Maruti claims the new powertrain is more kinder to the environment.
