The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 specs will sound rather good for an enthusiast
More details about the upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, including its engine specs, have been leaked recently and on paper at least, things seem to be rather promising.
To be a global product, the Himalayan 450 will likely replace the original Himalayan, which despite its humble demeanour, has been selling well the world over.
Without beating around the bush, let’s get straight to business. The liquid-cooled 450cc, 1-cylinder engine will deliver a maximum of about 40 BHP and 45 Nm of torque. It will be teamed to a 6-speed gearbox.
To ride on 21-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear rim wrapped with specially-made CEAT dual-sport rubber, the Himalayan 450 will feature ride-by-wire throttle, 3 riding modes – Rain, Road and Off-road – and switchable (for the rear wheel) ABS.
Visually, the 450cc adventure motorcycle will, well you’ve seen the spy shot have you not?, be big with a proper middleweight stance. Royal Enfield is set to give it a 20-litre fuel tank which will add to the visually bulky front half.
Apart from the leaked Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 specs, it has also come to light that the digital instrument cluster of the ADV will not be a top-notch full colour TFT unit, but, the display would provide all the necessary details nonetheless.
Thought this was over? Well, not quite, because there is another version of the Himalayan 450 that is under development. Code-named K1X (the regular model is internally referred to as the K1), this will be a more hardcore version of the ADV.
To be named the Himalayan 450 Raid, this model will come with a more powerful engine, upgraded suspension, wire-spoked wheels that can be fitted with tubeless tyres and even an auxiliary fuel tank.
While the Himalayan 450 is expected to debut early next year and get launched soon after, the ‘Raid’ will arrive well after by 2025-26. When the Himalayan 450 is introduced to the market, the original Himalayan is likely to be shown the way out.
