The 2022 Yamaha MT-15 is expected to feature plentiful updates
Yamaha dealers have unofficially begun accepting bookings for the 2022 MT-15 and the token amount currently varies from city to city, with some dealers reportedly asking up to Rs. 10,000/- to allocate an unit.
The Japanese bike manufacturer is believed to have readied an updated version of the 150cc commuter with more tech and is expected to introduce the model to the market next week.
Yamaha is set to offer the 2022 MT-15 in 4 colours (that we know of) and they are Glossy Black, Grey, Racing Blue and White. Of course, the R15 maker will also likely come up with a Monster Energy edition which will command a premium.
For 2022, the MT-15 could very well borrow the R15 V4’s LCD dash with 2 display modes. The naked bike should be equipped with Bluetooth connectivity and dual channel ABS, while traction control may be optional.
It is also likely that Yamaha will give the motorcycle inverted front forks, and the 155cc engine from the R15 V4 that makes 18.4 PS and 14.2 Nm. The 6-speed gearbox should come with an assist and slipper clutch and an optional quick shifter.
Yamaha is also expected to update the design of the 2022 MT-15 which should come with full LED lights. All these changes though will come at a cost which will be more than the current model’s rates that stand between Rs. 1.47 lakh and Rs. 1.50 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
