The base asking price of the 2022 Renault Kiger is Rs. 39,000/- more now than it was in 2021
Renault has launched the 2022 Kiger with a base price of Rs. 5.84 lakhs (ex-showroom), today in India. The compact SUV comes with new features and gets a few other notable changes.
For 2022, Renault has given the car a new dual tone – Metal Mustard with Mystery Black roof – colour option. The turbo variants of the Kiger get 16-inch alloys with red centre caps, ‘Turbo’ door decals, a new front chin plate and new chrome trim on the boot lid.
Inside, the 2022 Renault Kiger will feature a new ‘red fade’ dashboard accent, quilted seat upholstery with red stitching, a PM2.5 atmospheric filter as standard along with features such as wireless smartphone charger and cruise control.
Like before, the compact SUV will be offered with a naturally aspirated 1.0-litre engine (72 PS and 96 Nm) and a turbocharged 1.0-litre petrol motor (100 PS and up to 160 Nm).
While the atmospheric engine comes with 5-speed manual and automated manual transmission choices, the turbocharged mill can be teamed to either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a CVT.
The French carmaker has announced that the RXT(O) grade which was introduced last year to celebrate the tenth anniversary of its Indian operations will now be available with the more powerful petrol engine with both the manual and automatic gearbox options.
Previously, the RXT(O) variant was available only with the 1.0-litre naturally aspirated engine. Bookings for the new variant and the entire 2022 Kiger line-up will commence from 31st March.
Safety-wise, the compact SUV comes with up to 4 airbags, ABS, EBD, ISOFIX anchorages and it was given a 4-star rating by Global NCAP after conducting a safety assessment.
