The official launch of the 2022 KTM RC 390 is expected to take place this month
Austrian bikemaker KTM has obtained the type approval certification for the 2022 RC 390 supersport motorcycle and is expected to soon field the bike in the market here.
Having already launched the new generation RC 125 and RC 200 last October, the Mattighofen-based firm has homologated the next-generation RC 390 in India.
According to the type approval certificate, the 2022 KTM RC 390 will be 1965 mm long, 799 mm wide, 1145 mm tall, and the 2-wheeler will come with a wheelbase of 1347 mm.
Its 373.27cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled petrol engine makes 32 kW or 42.91 BHP at 9000 RPM. The bike’s gross weight is 322 kg, while the dry weight (disclosed when its global unveil took place last year) is 155 kg.
Featuring new styling and colourways, the next-generation RC 390 will come with full LED lights. The motorcycle also has a brand-new chassis, a larger air filter box, bigger fuel tank and KTM claims it has better ergonomics and a higher top speed than its predecessor.
As standard, the 2022 RC 390 will come with a TFT display, slipper clutch, inverted front fork (adjustable), rear monoshock (also adjustable if reports are to be believed), better brakes and safety aids including traction control and cornering ABS.
It goes without saying that the updated model will likely cost more than the previous one that was retailed at Rs. 2.78 lakhs (ex-showroom). After introducing the new RC 390, the Austrian firm is also expected to launch the updated 390 Adventure soon after in the Indian market.
