Jeep India’s upcoming Meridian has been spied once again
The upcoming Jeep Meridian 3-row SUV based on the Compass has been spied yet again in India, but this time in production-ready guise.
Unveiled globally in August last year, the car is known as the Commander elsewhere but is expected to be called the Meridian in India, as FCA received approval to use the moniker in the market by June 2021.
From the pictures, it is evident that the global and Indian models of the 7-seat Jeep Compass will look one and the same. This goes for both the exterior and interior of the SUV.
Sporting a more rounded overall profile, the recently spied Jeep Meridian had slim headlights with DRLs that flank the now well-known grille section.
The bonnet, front bumper and ORVMs are all identical and the wheels look similar too. The same is the case at the back, and on the inside, the dual tone dashboard has suede fabric surfaces along with metallic trim.
There should be rose gold accents on the centre console up front, leather and suede fabric upholstery, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless phone charger, electrically adjustable front seats, electronic tailgate, and other features.
When it gets launched by the middle of the year in the country, the Meridian is expected to come powered by a mild-hybrid 2.0-litre diesel engine paired to a 9-speed automatic gearbox which will be teamed to an all-wheel drive system.
