More models should post sales growth and help the segment grow

In December 2021, 200-500cc bike sales dropped by 2 percent

As can be seen from the 200-500cc bike sales for December 2021, the top 3 spots are occupied by motorcycles from Royal Enfield. Leading the way, is the Classic 350 from the premium bike manufacturer that registered sales of 34,723 units.

Second-placed Bullet 350 and the Meteor 350 that follow the best-seller recorded sales of 12,582 units and 10,977 units, respectively, in December 2021.

Bajaj Auto’s Pulsar 180 and NS 200 duo (7276 units) and the Pulsar 220F and 250 twins (2621 units combined) sandwiched the Royal Enfield Himalayan (4611 units).

By registering sales of 2535 units, the Hero Xpulse 200 adventure motorcycle took seventh spot in the December 2021 200-500cc bike sales chart.

Could the arrival of the scrambler based on the CB350 help Honda?

The 3 Jawa motorcycles came next with a combined sales of 2467 units, closely followed by the Bajaj Dominar 250 in ninth with 2207 units to its name. The final position in the top 10 list was occupied by the CB350 (1364 units) from Honda.

Of the top 10 models in the segment, only the Dominar 250 (506 percent), Himalayan (390 percent), Xpulse 200 (149 percent), and Meteor 350 (28 percent) registered year-on-year (YoY) sales growth.

Overall, the top-selling models in the 200-500cc premium motorcycle category registered combined sales of 81,363 units as opposed to 82,708 units (-2 percent) during the same period the year before.
