The asking price of the 2022 Maruti Celerio CNG is Rs. 95,000/- higher than the corresponding petrol variant
Maruti Suzuki has launched the CNG variant of the 2022 Celerio at a price of Rs. 6,58,000/- (ex-showroom, Delhi), today.
Available in a single VXi trim, the S-CNG Celerio costs Rs. 45,000/- and Rs. 95,000/- more than the petrol-powered VXi AGS and VXi 5-speed manual variants.
For the additional price, 2022 Maruti Celerio CNG is fitted with a 60-litre CNG tank (water filling capacity) from factory and dual interdependent Electronic Control Units (ECUs) and an ‘intelligent’ injection system.
The Dual Jet, Dual VVT K-Series 1.0-litre engine powering the 2022 Celerio CNG produces 41.7 kW or 56 BHP at 5300 RPM and 82.1 Nm at 3400 RPM. It delivers a claimed fuel economy figure of 35.60 km/kg and is mated to a 5-speed manual.
When the same motor is fed with petrol, it makes a maximum of 64.4 BHP or 48 kW at 5500 RPM and 89 Nm of peak torque at 3500 RPM. As is known, the petrol-only version of the hatchback does 26.68 km/l of petrol in VXi AGS guise.
Maruti Suzuki has the largest portfolio of CNG cars (with factory-fitted kits) in India. The top automaker of the nation has thus far sold around 9.50 lakh units of its S-CNG range of vehicles.
The company claims that in India, it has seen its CNG sales improve with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 22 percent in the past 5 years.
