The Toyota Hilux has begun reaching dealer yards across the country just in time for its launch
Dealer dispatches of the Toyota Hilux pickup truck are on and this particular example was spotted at a yard in Nagaland.
Painted in a shade of white, the Hilux dual cab model features projector lights which flank a large radiator grille that has a thick chrome frame.
Fitted with alloy wheels, this unit also has side steps, chrome ORVM caps and chromed panels on the rear bumper, similar to the model that was used for the TV commercial shoot.
However, unlike the vehicle which will be used for marketing purposes, this variant does not come with overtly flared fenders or the steel roll cage on the cargo bed.
If one wants to book the Hilux, Toyota dealer personnel charge Rs. 2 lakhs at present. Do note that the Japanese brand is yet to formally announce commencement of bookings for the vehicle.
The car is expected to be offered with 2 engine options, both of which are turbodiesels. The smaller 2.4-litre unit makes 150 PS and 400 Nm, while the larger 2.8-litre motor is good for 204 PS and 500 torques.
Both motors will come with the choice of a 6-speed manual gearbox and an automatic transmission. Toyota will offer 4-wheel drive variants of the pickup as well.
To be launched in the market come January 2022, the Hilux will rival the Isuzu V-Cross and is likely to be priced in the Rs. 25-35 lakhs (ex-showroom) range.
