While the asking price of the 2022 Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX is out, deliveries will begin only in December
India Kawasaki Motors has launched the 2022 Ninja 1000SX with a price tag of Rs. 11.40 lakhs (ex-showroom). For model year 2022 (MY22), the motorcycle comes in 2 colours – Emerald Blazed Green and Metallic Matte Graphenesteel Gray.
Apart from the updated colourways, the sport-tourer remains unchanged both aesthetically, it retains full-LED light setup, and mechanically.
It continues to feature a 4.3-inch TFT dash, smartphone connectivity via the Rideology App, cruise control, 2 power modes, 4 riding modes, 3-level (and switchable) traction control, ABS and cornering management function.
Power comes from a 1043cc inline 4-cylinder engine delivering a maximum of 142 PS at 10,000 RPM and 111 Nm of peak torque at 8000 RPM. It is teamed to a 6-speed gearbox with a quickshifter.
However, this is a rather hefty machine with a 238 kg wet weight. But, it does have a 19-litre fuel tank and a 1440 mm wheelbase to aid long-distance touring.
As for the suspension, the 2022 Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX price gets one 41 mm inverted front fork (120 mm travel) and a horizontal back-link, gas-charged rear shock (144 mm travel) with full adjustability all-round.
Stopping power comes from dual 300 mm front discs with 4-piston calipers and a single 250 mm rear disc with a single-piston caliper, while the wide tyres (120/70-section front and 190/50-section rear) wrap the 17-inch rims.
Do note that the cost of this motorcycle, like every other 2-wheeler, has increased exponentially over the past 1.5 years. For example, in June last year, the model year 2020 Ninja 1000SX saw its cost increase by Rs. 50,000/- and it was retailed at Rs. 10.79 lakhs (ex-showroom).
