Benelli has showcased the TRK 800 at EICMA 2021 motorcycle show
Benelli has showcased the TRK 800 adventure motorcycle (ADV) at the 2021 EICMA show. The bike has all the traditional aspects of an ADV which provide it a butch look.
Up front, there is the traditional ‘beak’ that is attached with the extensions of the muscular fuel tank. An adjustable flyscreen sits above the twin headlights separated by the DRL, while there are hand guards, and a high-set handlebar too.
Moving along, the Benelli TRK 800 ADV has a split seat setup and the saddle seems well-cushioned. The pillion rider has split grad handles to hold onto and the bike also has an engine guard and an upswept exhaust canister.
The dual tone paint scheme and the part orange wire-spoked wheels do add to the adventure motorcycle’s contemporary demeanour.
Powering the ADV is a 754cc 2-cylinder motor that is good for 76.13 PS at 8500 RPM and 67 Nm of torque at 6500 RPM. The engine is teamed to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip and assist clutch.
Built on a steel trellis frame, the TRK 800 has a large 22-litre fuel tank, a 7-inch TFT dash (should come with smartphone connectivity and navigation), a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel.
Benelli has used inverted Marzocchi front forks (50 mm) and a monoshock, and has given the bike plentiful wheel travel (at around 170 mm front and rear) to enable it to handle the rough stuff amiably.
Twin 320 mm front discs clamped by Brembo calipers and a single 260 mm rear disc work to bring the 226 kg (wet weight) motorcycle to a halt without a fuss.
The Chinese-owned motorcycle maker has announced that its flagship adventure motorcycle will go on sale in Europe in the second half of 2022 and it is likely that the bike will be introduced in India soon after.
