It is a well-known fact that Maruti is working on a heavily revised version of the Baleno premium hatchback that is slated to be launched next year. The vehicle is currently undergoing test runs and the design of the vehicle has been leaked through some images.
The images aren’t very clear but you do get a nice view of the vehicle’s new design philosophy. The styling has got major changes from the current Baleno both at the front and the rear. The vehicle features new bumpers, new bonnet, new grille, new hatch and new tail lamps.
The interior of the vehicle was also leaked a few days ago and the cabin also sees major changes. The dashboard will get an all-new design with a floating touchscreen and the vehicle will get a different steering wheel, the same design that is offered with the Ertiga/XL6.
The new Maruti Baleno is likely to get extra features like cruise control, wireless Apple CarPlay, etc. while it will retain existing features like keyless-go, push button start, auto climate control, electric ORVMs, day-night IRVM, etc.
The 2022 Maruti Baleno is expected to be powered by the same 1.2-litre DualJet petrol engine which churns out 88.5 HP. The current Baleno gets a 5-speed MT or a CVT and the new one will most likely get the same transmission options too. What are your thoughts on the new design?
