The above-mentioned asking price of the BYD e6 is exclusive of the 7 kW charger that costs an additional Rs. 45,000/-
BYD India has launched the pure-electric e6 MPV with a price tag of Rs. 29.15 lakhs, today, for the business to business (B2B) market. The cost of the e6 increases to Rs. 29.60 lakhs (prices are ex-showroom) when the 7 kW onboard charger is added.
BYD says the e6 will be available in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi NCR, Hyderabad, Kochi, Mumbai and Vijayawada. The firm is currently solidifying the dealer network across these locations.
Equipped with a 71.7 kWh battery pack, the e6 is powered by a 70 kW (94 BHP) electric motor producing 180 Nm of torque. The MPV can hit a top speed of 130 km/hr and has 520 km of city-only range and 415 km of combined range.
As for charging, BYD says the e6 supports both AC and DC fast charging. Using the latter, the MPV can be charged from 30 to 80 percent in 35 minutes (claimed). The charging time using the AC charger has not been disclosed.
Designed to carry its passengers in comfort, for the price, BYD e6 comes with LED DRLs, LED tail lamps, leather seats, 6-way front seats, 10.1-inch rotatable touchscreen, smartphone connectivity, CN95 air filtration system, a rearview camera, among other features.
Built on BYD’s e-Platform, the electric MPV has 580 litres of boot space, MacPherson strut front suspension and multilink rear suspension.
For safety, the car has Bosch’s IPB intelligent brake control system, multiple airbags, seat belt reminder (for all passengers), among other tech.
BYD offers 3 years or 1.25 lakh km vehicle warranty, 8 years or 5 lakh km battery warranty and 8 years or 1.50 lakh km motor warranty for the electric car.
