In September 2021, 150cc bike sales reduced by almost 50 percent YoY
TVS’ Apache RTR range topped the 150cc bike sales chart for September 2021 having registered sales of 40,661 units.
However, since the RTR range also includes motorcycles with higher capacity engines, the actual leader of the 150cc in September was the Yamaha R15.
Close to 11,800 units of the supersport-style 150cc motorcycle were lapped up by customers last month, and this meant the Pulsar 150 could only occupy third place in the list with its 11,082 unit sales.
Fourth-placed Hero Xtreme registered sales of 5996 units, while Yamaha’s FZ came fifth with 4550 unit sales.
Next up is the MT-15 (2514 units) which occupied sixth place in the September 2021 150cc bike sales chart, while the Honda Unicorn followed suit with 1390 unit sales.
The CB200X, also from the stables of Honda, found 1387 new homes last month, and the Suzuki Gixxer was not far off with 1340 unit sales.
In the final place came the Avenger Street 160, 399 units of which Bajaj retailed in the month of September this year.
Only the top 2 bikes in the list posted year-on-year (YoY) sales growth, while the rest struggled. As a result, overall sales of the top 10 150cc bikes stood at 81,111 units, which is 48 percent less than what the bikes managed during the same period last year.
