Images of the production-spec 2022 Range Rover have hit the internet
No sooner had Land Rover revealed teaser images of the 2022 Range Rover than the pictures of the production-spec model surfaced online.
Set to make its first official appearance on 26th October, 2021, the fifth-generation Range Rover looks pretty much like the current model, which is both good and bad.
It is good as the traditional look of the luxury off-roader has been maintained and bad because a layman would find it really hard to tell the difference between the current and new Range Rovers from a distance.
While the bonnet looks the same, the car now has new headlights, a fresh radiator grille, a cleaner bumper housing a larger lower air intake, while a skid plate is tucked underneath.
Along the sides, there are new ORVMs, flared arches and alloy wheels. The character line has been moved upward and sits above the new flush-fitting door handles. Of course, the pillars are blacked.
At the rear, the 2022 Range Rover comes with modern lights, smaller windscreen and reprofiled tailgate and bumper.
Inside, the dashboard, centre console and door panels are all new. The steering wheel looks sleeker and behind it sits the fully digital instrument display.
Instead of sticking with the twin touchscreen layout, the new Range Rover will come with a single large touchscreen, similar in size to the unit used in Teslas, and simpler air-controls with digital readouts within the 2 larger knobs.
It is clear that Land Rover has tried to keep the driver area clutter-free and it has worked. Even the air vents are slimmer and are integrated rather well in the dual tone dashboard.
Suffice it to say the car will be packed to the roof with features, with many designed to make crossing continents in the car feel like taking a stroll around a park. Safety will be top-notch as well.
To be built on Land Rover’s new MLA platform, the 2022 Range Rover will be available in both standard and long-wheelbase forms and will be sold in different forms including hybrid, pure-electric and performance (with a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 sourced from BMW).
