Tata XpresT EV price ranges between Rs. 9.54 lakhs and Rs. 10.64 lakhs (ex-showroom)
Tata Motors has launched the XpresT EV with a starting price of Rs. 9.54 lakhs (ex-showroom, inclusive of Fame 2 incentive), today in India.
The EV, targeted at mobility services, corporate and government fleet customers, is the first car to be introduced under the firm’s new Xpres brand.
It is offered with 2 range options. The base model comes with a range of 165 km with the 16.5 kWh battery pack, while the top-spec models come with 213 km (range is ARAI certified) thanks to a 21.5 kWh battery pack.
Power comes from a 30 kW (40.2 BHP) electric motor making 105 Nm of torque. It is mated to a single-speed transmission and is enough to propel the EV, which comes with ‘Eco’ and ‘Sport’ drive modes, to a top speed of 80 km/hr.
Charging times, using a fast charger (0-80 percent) is 90 minutes for the variant with the smaller battery and 110 minutes for the model equipped with the 21.5 kWh pack. The EV can also be charged using a 15 A plug point but it takes over 11 hours to top up the battery.
Riding on 14-inch wheels, the XpresT EV comes with a piano black front grille, LED tail lamps, black interior with electric blue accents, fabric seats and automatic temperature control.
In terms of safety equipment, Tata has given the car which weighs 1590 kg dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors.
