2022 Kawasaki KX250 & KX450 Launched, Priced From Rs. 7.99 Lakhs

The asking price of the 2022 Kawasaki KX450 is Rs. 60,000/- more than that of the KX250

Kawasaki has introduced the model year 2022 KX250 with an asking price set at Rs. 7,99,000/- (ex-showroom). The model year 2022 KX450 has also been launched in the country and it costs Rs. 8,59,000/- (ex-showroom).

2022 Kawasaki KX250 –

Available in a single ‘Lime Green’ colourway, the KX250 now has a new aluminium perimeter frame based on the bigger KX450, adjustable Renthal aluminium Fatbar, adjustable foot pegs, and slimmer shrouds.

Also new for model year 2022 is the electric start and the motorcycle also features a hydraulic clutch, revised fuel tank and a motocross ECU.

Powering the bike is a 249cc single-cylinder motor which is mated to a 5-speed transmission. The brand does not provide the exact power and torque figures produced by the motor.

However, Kawasaki does say that the liquid-cooled unit, which has a revised crankcase and combustion chamber and a higher rev limit, makes 1.4 PS more now.

Riding on a 21-inch front wheel (80/100-section tyre) and a 19-inch rear wheel (100/90-section rubber), the 2022 KX250 weighs 107.3 kg, has a 6.2-litre fuel holding capacity, 335 mm ground clearance and a 950 mm tall seat.

It also comes with an adjustable 48 mm inverted front fork with 314 mm travel, an adjustable rear monoshock with 316 mm travel, 270 mm petal front disc with 2-piston caliper and a 240 mm rear disc with single piston caliper.

2022 Kawasaki KX450 –

This model looks exactly like the KX250, for both share the same frame and swingarm. However, it has a large-diameter (22 mm) front axle shaft and weighs a bit more at 110.2 kg.

Powering the bike, which has a flat-bottom aluminium fuel pump, is a 449cc motor mated to a 5-speed gearbox (power and torque figures not released).

It has a taller seat (955 mm), more ground clearance (340 mm), fatter rear wheel (120/80-R19) and a bigger rear disc (250 mm) in comparison with the KX250.

The adjustable suspension is different too. It comprises a 49 mm inverted front fork (305 mm travel) and rear monoshock with 307 mm travel.
