The design of the Tata Punch stays mostly true to the HBX Concept
After recently revealing the front end design of the Punch mini crossover, Tata has disclosed the complete styling of the vehicle through multiple posts on social media.
The Harrier-inspired front styling of the Punch was first shared in full by the Indian carmaker last week. Now, we know how the side and rear profiles of the production-spec model derived from the HBX Concept will look like.
Simply put, the Tata Punch is the HBX with different bumpers and door cladding, normal tyres, dual tone paint scheme and no roof rack.
Along the sides, the mini crossover has a prominent character line that runs across the doors till the tail lights. It also has cladding for the wheel arches and the doors.
Sporting a dual tone paint scheme (the roof colour is applied to the ORVM caps as well), the Punch has a fairly decent window area and enough gap between the wheels and the arches.
At the back, bumper aside, people would be hard-pressed to tell the difference between the HBX Concept and the Punch.
The curved and creased boot lid, wrap-around tail lamps with arrow detailing, narrow windscreen with a wiper are all present and correct. The bumper houses a faux skid plate as well.
To be launched this festive season, the Tata Punch design should appeal to customers who prefer small crossovers over conventional hatchbacks.
The petrol-only vehicle will come with a 1.2-litre engine in both naturally aspirated and turbocharged forms. The transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and an AMT.
