Honda has finally released a teaser of the much-awaited NX200
Honda has released a short teaser video of its Hornet 2.0-based NX200 adventure motorcycle which is set to be introduced to the market on 19th August.
The video shows the motorcycle’s new look briefly and mostly, the changes have happened around the headlight area.
While the LED headlight has not changed, there are new panels around it and they connect with the fuel tank extensions, giving the bike a semi-fairing of sorts.
There is a new flyscreen, which is rather small, and Honda has also thrown in a pair of knuckle guards that have the front blinkers integrated into them.
The mirrors stay as is, and the Japanese brand does not seem to have played too much with the styling of the rest of the bike, for, the rear section seems pretty much the same as the Hornet 2.0 in the Honda NX200 teaser video.
However, there is a different engine cowl when compared with the Hornet 2.0, a new paint scheme, while adventure-oriented tyres have also been fitted to the rims.
Although it is not clear, Honda does seem to have moved the exhaust canister upward. If that is the case, then it will suit the bike due to the way it will be positioned in the market.
Powering the motorcycle will be a 184.4cc engine that puts out 17 HP and 16.1 Nm of peak torque, lifted straight out of the Hornet 2.0. The gearbox will be a 5-speed unit.
Similarly, the digital instrument cluster, fuel tank capacity and brakes should not be different either. However, Honda is expected to have tweaked the suspension to befit the bike’s demeanour.
Honda asks Rs. 1.31 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the Hornet 2.0 and the NX200 will cost more than the naked motorcycle.
